Weather Wussies. Geez, you'd think the world ended by the way people reacted! We had a light snow in the Albuquerque area yesterday morning. Here in the valley, there was less than an inch accumulation, and nothing stuck to the pavement. Okay so in the heights, there may have been 3 inches or so, but it still didn't stick. Schools were delayed, some closed and important things were cancelled, primarily my acting class, By noon, all the snow had melted, and it was just COLD! Acting class was at 7 pm. By that time, there was nothing preventing ANYONE from getting to class. And I had spent all weekend memorizing my monologue! I was ready for that class, dammit! Now I'd understand if class were in the east mountains, but come on people...Suck it up! Growing up in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana made me used to getting around in the snow, and yes, I really was one of those kids who walked a mile in 3 feet of snow to get to school. I only remember one time when school was closed in Montana. That was when there were 8 foot snow drifts and a wind chill of 60 below zero. Here, the world comes to a halt in one inch of snow!

I hope to use this site to practice my writing and humor skills as well as to flex some film reviewing muscles which have been withering away for about twenty years.
